The Final Dance
poem by: blue eyes smilin

The Final Dance we danced our final dance together as we waltzed across the ballroom, you held me tightly as the tears streamed down my face matching the ache of my heart as I looked at your handsome dark face, the prince of my dreams was leaving for a war on foreign shores, where the enemy would shoot anything moving and have no regrets if I could I would hold you like this forever where we would be statues in a park embracing for visitors to envy the love shown between us wishing they could have a romantic love within their lives as they pass by, my reverie is disturbed as you remind me it is time to leave for you will be heading down the road to fight for others to be free while I remain a prisoner of your heart
